La petite musique d’Ulysse Nardin

Dans le monde des pièces sonores, il existe d’un côté les traditionnelles répétitions minutes et grandes sonneries et, de l’autre, les véritables boîtes à musique dont une maison comme Reuge se montre particulièrement experte. Désormais, entre les deux, il faudra compter avec Ulysse Nardin.

 

Avec la Stranger, la célèbre manufacture a développé une pièce d’un genre nouveau. Elle allie haute horlogerie traditionnelle et mouvement musical. Ce dernier se concrétise par un disque rotatif sur lequel vient sonner une dizaine de lames lorsqu’il se met en mouvement. La Stranger n’offre donc pas un simple carillon mais une véritable mélodie. Qui plus est, cette complication est visible directement depuis le cadran, ce qui, au-delà de son attrait musical, offre un ballet esthétique du plus bel effet.

 

Pour la première utilisation de ce procédé, Ulysse Nardin a choisi d’interpréter « Stranger in the night » le titre légendaire interprété par Franck Sinatra en 1966. Il a fallu pas moins de cinq ans à la manufacture pour développer ce garde-temps d’un nouveau genre. Pour sa première édition, seulement 99 pièces seront produites. Proposée au sein d’un boîtier en or rose de 45mm, le mouvement manufacturé à remontage manuel offre 48 heures de réserve de marche.
